Recognizing the public interest related to infrastructure projects and specifically, the Lansing Municipal Airport’s development program, the Village of Lansing and the Airport through the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process intends to establish an effective community outreach program to achieve the following:
After completion of the Draft Environmental Assessment, the Village of Lansing intends to hold a public hearing. A “Notice of Public Hearing” will be published in The Times newspaper on Friday, February 17, 2012. Through the Draft Environmental Assessment and public involvement process the FAA, Illinois Department of Transportation and Village of Lansing will provide information about the proposed action, reasonable alternatives, and expected environmental effects. The Public Hearing process also incorporates a public comment period, which provides an opportunity to interested parties to submit, in writing, through the mail, fax, email or delivered in person, comments related to the proposed action.
